National Park Service interpreters in pioneer clothing illustrate daily chores and frontier farming methods as part of the farm's living history demonstrations. Cooking, splitting rails, riving shingles, breaking flax, and spinning wool are just some of the day to day chores that will be interpreted. Visitors to the farm have the opportunity to learn how Abraham Lincoln grew from a pioneer boy, just seven years of age, to a young man of twenty-one.

The foundation of the actual Lincoln cabin can be seen in the photo. The hearth stones have been moved to the museum in the Visitor Center.
