French Island
French Island, south of Eureka and west of Enterprise, is named for the island in the Ohio River. It is located on the Ohio River two miles south of Eureka.
Much like Enterprise, French Island is not home to many year round residents. However, one amenity to life in French Island is the boat dock and marina, which is the first refueling spot on the Indiana side of the river between Evansville and Rockport.
The area, once sparsely populated, is becoming a popular get-away destination for residents of Evansville and Warrick County, as well as boaters, anglers, water skiers and campers.
